An antique pair of superb quality french gilt bronze hold back hooks in a traditionaldesign dating from around 1880.The casting is very fine with good detail.These have been hand finished the file marks visible on the edges .the weight is just over 900 grams.The makers initialsAHare on the reverse, picture 9.The gilding is invery goodcondition with touches of verdigris, picture 10.There is a bar across the backplate and a hole in the top for fixing in position.When fixed theyextend from the wall6.1/2 inches or 16.5 cm approx.The back plate is6.1/4 inches long or 16 cm.These are a very stunning pair in excellent antique condition.
