Description A superblarge-sized heavyEnglish antique 18thCentury Georgiansolid sterling silverberry servingspoon by the silversmith Thomas Dene - (1759-1769)and with full English silver hallmarks for London 1770.Excellentqualitygenuine246 year old English silverspoon, in absolutely mint clean condition, handsome large 8.75\" table size, with an attractive embossed bowl decorated with fruits and foliage and complete with its original pristine undamaged gilding. Fine heavy weight, approx.62 grams and there are no added personal engraved monograms or crests. Looks to be totally unused.

MeasurementsImpressive size, measures approx.8.75 inches (220mm) in length, the bowl measures 2.95 inches (73mm) x1.7 inches, (43mm).

Date English antique 18th Century Georgian solid sterling silver, with a full set of English silver hallmarks for London 1770, (date letter \"P\"). Date letter rubbed but is readable. Has the earlier bottom struck marks, includes the crowned leopards head of the London assay office and the lion passant silver stamp. Pre-dates silver duty, so no duty stamp.

Maker Silversmiths initials \"T.D\" (Thomas Dene - 1759 -1769). Has a pellet after so would mean it was made the year after he died.

ConditionAbsolutely mint clean condition, no splits or cracks, no repairs and no knocks or dents, honestly looks to be totally unused.The gilded bowl is pristine and it a good large size with a nice weight. One of 3 similar spoons I am currently listing.
