offered for sale is this wonderful example ofanart nouveau pewter teapot jug,(possibly the best one i have ever sold),made during the secessionist jugendstil period of the early 1900\'s and easily recognisable as coming from the portfolio of designs by archibald knox,these designs formed the basis for the tudric & cymric ranges of art nouveau pewter & silver ware retailed by liberty & co,itis in a gently polished condition and as a resultthe bodyhas a mirror like finish as it had when first made over 100 years ago with absolutely no loss to the wonderful knox honesty & entrelacdesign, itretains its intricately woven covering to the handle which is in perfect condition with no losses or loose strands,the lid is in good order as is the hinge and works well opening and closing easily,the interior is clean and without blemish,it is fully marked to the basewith the design number 0231,also it carries the tudric stamp,the number indicates that thispiece iscirca 1903/4,overall condition should be considered as near mint,in fact if Carlsberg made 0231 teapots this would be it.it is well over100 years oldand may have minor signs of age & usage.
