This is a superb large lidded persian pot with the hand decoration of which:

During our research: it certainly dates from the mid 19th century.

Dates about c1860s.

Pottery.

Wonderful hand decoration to the base and the lid.

Has brass banding to the bases rims and to the rim of the lid.

Spigot handle with added brass.

Brass band has DVA incised to the lower band.

It has an overall height of about 9inches.

Max overall dia centrally of about 6.5inches.

Basediaof about 4.75inches.

Condition, considering the age, the overall condition is subject to:

a repair to the base with two brass rivets inserted.

The lid has two hairlines with:

a large chip to the inner rim with:

minor chipping and nibbles to the inner lid.

Brass banding has ageing.

Besides being a verycollectable, heavy, mid 19th century Persian lidded pot with the intricate hand decoration,c1860s, would also look fabulous displayed.
