This is a superb Staffordshire porcellaneous figurine group of the eagle with chicks defending the nest from the snake of which:

During our research we have been informed it certainlydates from the mid 19th century.

Dates about c1850s.

Staffordshire, Englandorigin.

Well coloured.

A wonderful portrayal of the open winged eagle.

In its claws, a snake, which the eagle defends its trio of chicks from.

Mounted onto the decorative rocky outcrop with:

quill holders to the top.

Areas of coloured bocage.

It has an overall height of about 5.25inches.

Max size of the hollowed base of about 2.75 x 2.5inches.

Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition is very good with no major blemishes except:

one chick, has the loss of its head.

All as perpictures.

Besides being a very collectable, mid 19th century Staffordshire porcellaneous figurine group of the winged eagle, defending the nest of chicks from the decorative snake, mounted on the decorative rocky outcrop with the coloured bocage and twin quill holders, c1850s, would also look fabulous displayed.
