This is a superb Staffordshire of a brown & white spaniel dog with the seated royal child on its back of which:

during our research: we have been informed it dates from the mid 19th century:

dates c1850s.

Wonderful colouring & facial decoration with the gilt collar & lock.

A royal child on it\'s back in the wonderful dress attire inc plumed hat.

Pottery., ceramic

Wonderful overall portrayal.

Mounted onto the decorative oval base with the gilt decoration.

To the top of the base: the quill holder.

It has an overall height of about 5.75inches.

Hollow base with an overall size of about 4 x 2.5inches.

Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition is excellent and is not subject to any major blemishes.

Has a firing crack to the side of the base, under the glaze, from time of manufacture.
