You are offerding for my Aunts STUNNING Pair of original ,Antique Meiji period Japanese hand carved Bamboo wooden vases/ brush pots-holders.
Made c1900-10, as pieces for Export..possibly older into the 19thC. As such these are Meiji period pieces.
Taking the form of a pair of cylindrical segments of large bamboo, meticulously hand carved in relief, and chip carved to depict a fierce battle on each of Ronin or Bandit against Samurai in full armour
Both signed to the base with a Character.

Both measure in at 30cm tall approx with a diameter across of 11cm approx .

I have seen one vase alone advertised for between £100-£120, but to be honest the addition of the Samurai warrior battle, not a typical scene will increase the value..I would say £200-250 for the pair would be more likely the cost from a specialist dealer
