SUPERB PAIR: 19thC STAFFORDSHIRE LARGE COWS WITH CALVES & SPILL VASES c1880s:

These area superb pair of large Staffordshirecows with the suckling calves& spill vasesof which:

During our research we have been informed theycertainlydate from the19th century.

Date about c1880s.

Wonderfulcolouring & portrayal of the cows with the suckling calves.

Centrally to the rears the large spill vases.

Mounted onto the decorative oval bases with the streams.

Eachhas an overall height of about 10.75inches.

Overall sizes of the bases of about 8.25 x 4.25inches.

Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition to both is very goodwith:

one cow has a early but small repair to an area of a horn &ear.

Also a blemish of a firing crack to the base area underneath, from time of manufacture which has fractured to the side edge.

A hairline around the circumference ofthe front rear leg with:

a fine hairline to the neck at the rear.

Other has a basic glue repair around the circumference of the neck with:

again, from time of manufacture, a firing crack to the rear at the top of a leg.

Due to age: minor areas rubbing and loss of colour & fine crazing.

All as perpictures.

Besides being a very collectable pair of very heavy,19th centuryStaffordshirecows with the suckling calves and spill vases, mounted onto the decorative oval bases, c1880s, both would also look fabulous displayed.
