This is a superb pair of wooden carvings with the relief carving of the pug dog heads, bodies, clawed feet and mounted tails to the rear of which:
During our research we have been informed they certainlydates from the early period of the 19th century.
Date about c1820s.
Of a european origin.
Would have formed part of a piece of furniture during the georgian period of the said period.
A quite superb pair of large wooden relief carvings of:
the pug dog heads with their intricate carvings.
Other carvings with the central bodies, clawed feet and:
the mounted relief carved decorative tails to the rears.
Wonderful portrayal of the pair of carved pug dogs.
Each has an overall height of about 21.5inches.
Max depthsabout 5inches.
Dia of the heads of the pug dog heads of about 2.5inches.
Condition: Considering the age, the overall condition to both is excellent and both are not subject to:
any major blemishes except:
due to age: wear with rubbing to the stain which is quite easy to restain & varnish if so required.
