This is a superb pair of Staffordshire seated black & white spaniel dogs with the embossed numbers of 2 underneath each, of which:

During our research we have been informed they certainlydate from the mid 19th century.

Date about c1850s.

A wonderful portrayal of the seated spaniel dogs with:

the black & white decoration and superb facial detailing.

Underneath the embossed numbers of 2 each.

Gilt collars & locks with hand decorated chains.

Pottery.

Hollowed bases with the embossed numbers underneath of 2 each.

Each has an overall height of about 10inches.

Max basesizes ofabout 6 x 4inches.

Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition is excellent with no major blemishes.

both have paste applied underneath the base edge.

Due to age: both are subject to a few areas of loss of colour, mainly yo the noses and an eye.
