This isa superb pair of Staffordshire male & female sheep of a ewe & a ram, with the wide bocage to the rears of which:

During our research we have been informed they certainlydate from the mid 19th century.

Date about c1840s.

Porcellaneous.

A left and right.

Standing pair ofsheep of a ram and a ewe with one having curly horns.

Intricate detailing to the sheeps faces.

To the rears: the wide bocage with coloured flowers.

Mounted onto the decorative grassy bases with the streams.

Each hasan overall height of about 4.75inches.

Max overall size of the hollow bases of about 3.75 x 2.5inches.

Max dias of about 4.25inches.

Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition to both is very good and both are not subject to:

any major blemishes except:

minor chipping to the bocage edges, with, one having a series of hairlines with restoration to the front leg.

other having similar hairlines.

Due to age: minor areas of loss of colour and overall minor crazing.

All as perpictures.

Besides being a very collectable, pair of mid 19th centuryStaffordshire porcellaneous sheep, of a ram and a ewe, with the wide bocage decoration to the rears, mounted onto the decorative bases with streams, c1840s, both would also look fabulous displayed.
