This is a superb pair of very large Staffordshire seated black & white spaniel dogs with their wonderful portrayals, of which:

During our research we have been informed they certainlydate from the 19th century.

Date about c1880s.

Staffordshire, Englandorigin.

A wonderful portrayal of the very large seated spaniel dogs with:

the black & white decoration and facial detailing.

Gilt collars, locks & chains.

Pottery.

Each has an overall height of about 12.75inches.

Max basesizes ofabout 7.75 x 4inches.

Max dias including the curled tails of about 10.25inches.

Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition to both is excellent and both are without any major blemish except:

one having a small chip underneath by the tail.

Due to age: both are subject to areas of fine crazing.
