These are a superb pair of large Staffordshire white & gilt seated spaniel dogs of which:

During our research we have been informed they certainlydate from the 19th century.

Date about c1880s.

A left and a right.

Wonderful white & gilt colouring with hand painted coloured decoration to their faces.

Pottery.

Pair of large Staffordshireseated spaniel dogs with their wonderful overall portrayals and colouring.

White & gilt with theirgilt collars, locks and chains.

Superb facial portrayals with the hand painted decoration.

Each has an overall height of about 12.75inches.

Sizes of hollowed bases of about 7.75 x 4inches.

Max overall dias including curled tails of about 10.25inches.

Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition to both is very good with one having a fine hairline to the rear which continues underneath along the edge of the base.

Other has a hole under the base.

Due to age: both are subject to overall fine crazing.

All as perpictures.

Besides being a very collectable pair of very heavy, 19th centuryStaffordshire seated white & gilt spaniel dogs with their wonderful portrayals, c1880s, both would also look fabulous displayed.
