Description A wonderful veryrarelarge-size English antique Art Nouveau solid sterling silverphoto frame by the silversmith Henry Matthews in lovely condition and with full English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1904.Excellent quality genuine113 year old sterlingsilver frame, (definitelynot a modern re-production), a handsome size, decorated with a beautiful wide embossed silver mounted border of stylised Art Nouveau flowers and scrolls and complete with its original velvet covered wood backingand hinged easel stand. Also has its protective glass and interior watered silk lining. As a bonus there are no added engraved presentation inscriptions or monograms. Stunning example, direct from a private estate,very hard to find.

Measurements Impressive size, measures approx. 8inches (201mm) in height and is 6.7 inches (170mm) wide. The actual photo size is 5\" x 3.5\".Date English antique Edwardian solid sterling silver with a full set of English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1904(date letter \"e\"). Excellent clearstruck marks.Maker Silversmiths initials \"H M\", (Henry Matthews).ConditionLovelycondition and ready to be used.No splits or solder repairs to the silver, no loss to the silver decoration and no nasty knocks ordents, just a few very minor little age-related surface bruises,honestly nothing much at all and a stunning example. The velvet covered backingand hinged easel stand are in great condition and all original, just normal age-related sun fading and wear to the velvet pile, what you would expect to find on a 113 year old frame. The stand hinge is original and it works fine.Complete with its undamaged protective glass, all the brass retaining catches/hinge are original and even the interior silk lining is intact. Beautiful all originalstylised Art Nouveau decoration and as a bonus there are no added personal engraved inscriptions or monograms. Very hard to find genuine antique silver Art Nouveau examples in great condition.
