A fine quality, highly decorative silver podstakannik (glass holder) in the Neo-Russian style, Moscow 1886.
The ornate openwork body is finely pierced and chased with exotic birds, decorative nalichniki
and foliate motifs, with a knopped baluster handle and thumb rest,
the holder is raised on a ledge-form base supported by 8 shaped feet.
Excellent condition.
Hallmarked for Moscow, assayer\'s mark of A. Romanov dated 1886,
84 silver standard, makers mark ISL in Cyrillic.
10 cm high, weight 210 gr.
