This is a really great sale, you just never see fresh from estate collections like this come up for sale these days, and mostly with s! There are many items listed I do not know a great deal about, so I am sure there are some really great treasures to be found!

Up for sale with is a very fine 19th Century Japanese Porcelain Study of a Rooster or Cockerel. The Rooster I am told dates to the Japanese Meiji Period and shows incredible Meiji Period details throughout. The Rooster is beautifully Hand Enameled throughout in rich, bright enamel colors, much nicer than my photos can show. I believe the Figure would have originated in the Kutani or Arita area of Japan. The Rooster displays beautifully showing some small chips to the beak and toes plus his comb and tail have had minor repairs, but no cracks and I am sure the flaws could be restored if you so chose. The Rooster is an impressive size measuring approx 6 inches long by 7 inches tall and we are also listing a Hen figure in our other sales if you wanted to take a look, they make a great pair. Meiji Period Animal studies are always very popular and I am sure you won't find another like this up for sale any time soon, especially with .
