(All text, headings, photographs and content of this listing is the copyright and intellectual property of; Gentleman\'soriginal Swiss \'Doxa\' railroad type, lever movementpocket watchwithbeautiful ivory porcelain dial (which has the rarer red Arabic numbers) anda very highly polished, large, 18 size, original Argentan case.

C ~ 1930\'s.

Looks to have been much loved and very well cared for - its condition certainly reflects this.

Full working order and is an extremely accurate timekeeper(within +1/-1 minute per 24 hours) with plenty of room on the regulator (which is sat correctly in the central position) for any further fine tuning.

Fullyserviced (usingMoebius oils) and calibrated by my highly experienced watchmaker and is guaranteed to be 100% authentic - a timepiece to grace any pale ivory (almost white), high gloss, impressiveand distinctive porcelain dialin very near mint condition- absolutely no hairlines, fading or nibbles and just two extremely feint (micro) little pin prick marks showing under eyeglass only to the left of number 3 (neither visible to the naked eye, do not detract in any way but mentioning for accuracy).

Stamped clearly and boldly in black fancy script; * DOXA *

Bold heavily scrolled black Arabic numbers (note the lovely little arrow tip to number 4) with black minute markers forming chapter ring and the rarer red Arabic numbers (13 - 24) in between.

Correct recessed centre with double sunk sub dial with black Arabic numbers and black seconds chapters.

Original finely cut, largeblued steel, Breguet moon handsand blued steel arrow tipseconds handall in good straight order.

Slightly domed crystal showing two or three micro scratches under eyeglass only (again do not detract).

CASE;-

The large and chunky (5.3cm diameter/7.4cm from top of bow to base)highly polished (please excuse any reflections in the pictures - was very difficult to photograph) solid Argentan (hard wearing nickel alloy which was favored by the Railwaymen for its durability and strength), original, signed caseis heavy(has a pleasing, solid feel in the hand andtotal watch weight is 93 grams) andin very good condition, absolutely no wear, just two very little indentations to back cover and one to case circumference at 7 and overall light andshort little surface scratches(all usually caused by carrying the watch in a pocket with loose coins and other heavy objects jangling around) commensurate with age and use in her 80+ years service.

All covers, both inner and outer still retain their original mirror finish.

The front bezel snaps on and off correctly, closing tightly with a very reassuring click.

The back cover and dust cover are hinged at 6, both open correctly to exactly 90 degrees, again closing tightly and the two hinges are true and firm with no play.

The inside of theback cover (which has three or four very light surface scratches - looks like someone tested it to see if silver) is clearly stamped within an oval shaped cartouche,

*DOXA * METAL ARGENTAN * DEPOSE * and is numbered; 1270180 52.

This number is correctly, partially repeated to the inner back case curvette; 52.

Beautifully and clearly stamped to the dust cover; MEDAILLE D\'OR. MILAN 1906 (and has five highly detailed medal symbols to centre), DOXA HORS CONCOURS LIEGE 1905.

The inside of the dust cover carries the most amazing \'fish scale\' engine turning (the detail of which remains as crisp and clear today as the day it was made) and is correctly numbered again; 1270180 52.

MOVEMENT;-

The stem wound and lever set, high grade, 15 ruby jewelled, 3/4 plate, lever movement isin lovely bright order (few tiny \'specs\' of age patina showing under eyeglass only to the top plates as to be expected)and has just beenchecked andserviced.

Carries the most wonderful geometric damaskeeing to the top plates (again the detail of which remains as bright and crisp as the day it was made) and \'swirl\' engine turning to the mainspring and ratchet barrel covers.

Has a solid bi-arm balance wheel (did not want to stop for the camera - showing the balance spring is in perfect beat) with brass balancescrews and two brass meantime screws (for precision timing), original steel flat balance spring which is true and \'in the round\', large ruby jewels in recessed sunken chaton settings, rubyend stonein a screwed in recessed chatonsetting, heavily and beautifully engraved (in black) balance cock, micro whip regulator (which as mentioned earlier is sat correctly in the central position) and original, matching, large, bright steel case screws.

Stamped clearly on the top plate in black Gothic script (within an arched, black oblong shaped cartouche); DOXA.

The bottom plate (under the dial) is clearly stamped; 51482 DEPOSE (and carries the Swiss cross symbol) and is numbered; 1274307.

Balance action isabsolutely tremendousin all positions(could not be any better) and is keeping great time with a sure, strongpositive action.

Runs like a train!

Windsextremely smoothly and fully (please do not be afraid to fully wind - over-winding is the great horological myth!)

Good, original, totally unworn, large flat topped \'onion\' crown.

Hand set operatessmoothly and correctly - the pull up/ push down action is very positive and true.

Good, original, large, un-worn horse shoe shaped bow.
