This sale is for aplate used at the Onondaga Hotel for the breakfast of the visiting president, which at the time was William Howard Taft. Plate states: SYRACUSE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BREAKFAST TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES SEPT 16,1911 THE ONONDAGA. Very unusual and rare item. Plate was used for this one event only and the attendees were probably allowed to take their plate as a commemorative.Plate measure 10.25\".Great condition w/no chips, breaks, or cracks, minor use wear. I have another unusual plate for this event, but w/a green over glaze. I have never seen another like this.
