This is one of the most pictorial haggadot printed which contains a hodgepodge of various well known Jewish artists. The editors cut and pasted some of the most popular haggadot that they could get their hands on and made up a new haggada. For example they took one illustration from the Arthur Szyk hagada (probably without permission), a couple from Ephraim Lillien works, one from Jakob Steinhardt (Director of the Bezalel school in the 1960s, see his woodcuts that are for sale in my store), Saul raskin and loads from various 18th-19th century works of art. The entire text of the hagadah is here as well as explanations and various laws of this nite.
This Hagada was published by the Municipality of Jerusalem and though there\'s no date, I figure it\'s the same time as the French, Russia, Spanish & Englishhaggada which were printed in 1979 (which I also have). The shape is unusual for a haggada being 6 3/4 x 4.5 inches. Contains a whopping 82 pages!
Condition: Excellent, no stains whatsoever.
PS This is probably the first time that the work of Arthur Szyk is being used by a governmental authority!
