INTRODUCING MY OBSESSION: SAILOR STANDARD PROFIT

In honor of Sailor\'s foundation year the 1911 Series was introduced 25 years ago. It has maintained the high quality material and craftsmanship from the start. MY FEELING ABOUT SAILOR PENS:

I’m starting to get obsessed with Sailor — and I’m not sure why. I have many Sailor pen that i have bought or collected over the years. I still remember years ago my very first Sailor was a profit and to the life of my memory it is my pleasure to introduce a standard profor to you. It’s the basic designed high performanc oriented pen for their high-end line. I’m sure part of my obsession stems from the fact that Sailor’s nibs are extremely famous in the world like there is no other as such, but I don’t know what else could be fueling my obsession. Maybe it’s because…

…their reputation for super nibs?

…they have some of the most interesting designs of the three big Japanese manufacturers (Pilot and Platinum are the other two)?

…their high-end pens have options of different dimensions of using gold on the nibs. 21K or 14K.

But for all the good reasons i finally admit to say, Sailor is the best pen i have ever written with. I feel like some of you would relate with me in terms of best writing in feeling and performance.

1911 STANDARD PROFIT: INSIGHTS TO THE PEN

The Sailor 1911 Full-Size brown and gold combines classic styling with contemporary gold trim to create a fountain pen that is both timely and timeless in appearance. When paired with Sailor\'s smooth-writing 14k solid gold nib units, this is a pen suitable to any occasion.

I find that this pen equipped with a Sailor precisely made nib, smooth and with excellent ink control, puts it in a category of the top writing instruments in the world today. Can\'t decide between this pen and the gold trim version? Both are classic and stylish, but here\'s a simple way to decide: if you wear a watch, what color is the metal? If you wear jewelry, what metal do you tend to gravitate toward? If the answer is silver, you may wish to choose the Full-Size in Brown with gold trim.

The 1911 Full-Size in Brown with gold trim is a cartridge-converter pen that can be filled with bottled ink using the provided converter. It can also use Sailor brand cartridges. Only cartridge will come with the package. If you wanted converter, please contact me and it can be bought separately.

MY PERSONAL WRITING EXPERIENCE

The nib can be coaxed to provide a bit of line variation, but as a “hard” or rigid nib, it’s not really designed for any sort of flex or even bounciness, despite being 14k gold. Despite my personal preference for a wider nib, the writing experience of the nib is fantastic. The nib still has less response as I prefer, I had no ink flow issues, skips, or hard starts.

Then what is the good of them?

They are the best in NIB, which gather them the reputation.
