Don't miss this fantastically well-preserved copy of the "The Essays of Michel de Montaigne" that has been lavishly illustrated and signed by the great Salvador Dali. There were just 1,000 copies of this special signed edition that were made of which this is No. 510.

The book is in fine, unread condition and in very close to as-new condition. There isthe lightesttrace of toning to the inside of the front cover, that was likely caused by the flap of the rare original glassine jacket and a long ago price written in pencil (photo 7). Just an amazing copy, with many full-page color platesby Dali andnumerous black and white illustrations.

The glassine jacket is in great condition, but it seems to have shrunk a bit. The very rare, publisher'scardboard slipcase is present. Because this was issued with a fragile slipcase, it is rare that the slipcase is present on the rare times you see this book for sale. The slipcase has protected this book well, but the slipcase itself rates fair to good condition, with wear and splitting and a small piece chipped off at the top (last photo), butthe caseis still intact and holding the book nicely.
