RARE HISTORICAL COLLECTIBLE POSTCARD

condition: see attached photos (has some ageing wear)

Postally used - postal date JAN 3 1911

*****THIS JUST IN VIA EMAIL*****Although there was a Chutes ride at Playland (1923 -50) this
card is from The Chutes Amusement park on 10th & Fulton. It
originally was in the Haight from 1895 - 1902. From 1902 to
1909 the Chutes was on the block from 10th to 11th Ave.,
Fulton to Cabrillo.
It moved to the more heavily traveled entertainment district area
of Fillmore St. from 1909 - 11. Fire on May 29, 1911 ended the
Chutes until a similar water-slide was installed at the Beach.
Hard to find card dating from 1904 - 1907 period.
