Sandizell Hoffner German Dresden Lace Porcelain Figurine / Figure Seated Lady and Gentleman playing Chess
Produced by the the Sandizell Porcelain Factory owned by Hoffner & Company circa early 1950\'s. The figurine is marked on the bottom with a blue crown
and the word Dresden the logo of the Porzellanfabrik Sandizell, Hoffner & Co. of Bavaria.
As can be seen in the photos, the figures are crisp and clear and not muddled like so many others.
A pity that the dress has lace loss.We see a beautiful lady dressed in pink and white ruffled lace
with a skirt embellished with pink roses.
Her dainty feet are clad in gold.
She has a lovely yellow rose tucked into her bosom
and has a large white porcelain box sitting on her lap.
Her gentleman friend is dressed in a blue frock coat accented
with fancy gold trim. His white shirt and stockings are also trimmed extensively
with gold and gold buttons.
There is white lace ruffling at his wrists and neck. She is sitting on a very ornate chair and he on a plush footed stool.
They are sitting at a baroque styled white table heavily gilded with gold on which a chess set sits. Condition: She has a repair on her right hand and there is lace loss on her dress and his cuffs.
I\'ve provided many photos of such. Please review them carefully. Approximate measurements:
6 inches at tallest point
6-1/2 inches at widest point
4-1/4 inches at deepest pointAnd weighs approximately 2 pounds without packing materials. I figure on a 4 pound double boxed carton for safe arrival.
