Antique original victorian brooch with saphiret glass cabochons. Made in the end of 19th century or beginning of 20th.Brooch is made of copper and the pin is made of metal and has corrosion (I will include in the package a new pin which can be used for substition).
Beauty of saphiret cabs is much more intense in real, the photo really do not do justice to it.The colour is changed according to light from icy grey, ocean blue to purple and orange brown or nude. Stones like these were made in Austria, Czechoslovakia, Germany during that time.Thecolor gets its glowing color from thereal gold that was added to thesapphire colored glass when it was melted.The production of these stones were terminated during 40s when the value of gold increased immensely.Period: 1880-1920
