I\'m pleased to offer this signed & inscribed photo bySarah Bernhardt, fresh from an important estate sale in Vancouver. The writing in French is difficult to read and for me to translate so I hope you do better than I. The back says it is dated 1879 but it could also be 1877. I believe the photo is also rare and can\'t find another like it. The piece was elaborately framed with glass, and has been in private hands and not seen by the public since 1969.

The piece is in excellent shape except for each corner having a small ding or spot of wear, that could be touched up if you choose. The photo has toning. The outside frame measures 10 5/8 by 12.25 inches and the photo showing through the glass, about 4 by 5 3/8 inches.Note: I took a few photos in the middle without flash but the colour is similar to the photos at the beginning and end.
This item is from the estate of Hugh Pickett of Vancouver. His estate was recently saleed in Vancouver and you can read more about it According to the back, he purchased it from the Altman Collection in 1969.
