For your consideration is this scarce and lovely antique German bisqueparian bonnet head doll from the late 1800s and probably made by Hertwig. She is 18 inches tall and a good cabinet size.This particular bonnet head style is veryhard-to-find and the blue coloring is very attractive. Her blue eyes and big bow on the bonnet looksgreat on display and the colors in her old dress brings out her sweet features. The face is still in very goodcondition with a cute nose and side profile and creamy smooth bisque that has afew firing dots. There is a small imperfectionon the brim of the blue bonnet, on the upper left that is hard to see on display but isseen more looking up from the bottom, as shown.The back left underside of the bonnet has a small chip or imperfection that blends well near the edge. The light spot on the front lower edge of the shoulder plate is just a natural variation of color.I believe at some point she was givena professionally made expensive firmly stuffed body, with a slender waist, but I\'m not sure how old it really is, because I see soiling and age to the leather. The photo shows the nice quality leather stitchedarms and fingers. The dress is a prettyflowing old sheer material gathered at the waist and at the bodicewith an old pin that is delicately styled and compliments her well. The dress is partially stitchedon, so I couldn’t photograph some areas.The old full length slip and bloomers have matching old delicate laceand they look original. The socks are part ofthe lower leg of the body and the cute old shoes have beading and aging to thesurface and they could be her original shoes.A very beautiful and uncommon antique girl and she’s ready tobe displayed and adored. No odors andshe comes from quality storage in a smoke free, pet free collection.
