Up for sale is ascarcecommemorative dollar watch that was produced by the E. N. Welch manufacturing company of Bristol, Connecticut. This watch is incomplete and is a project, and I am selling it as is. This is a very large watch- 72mm in diameter. It was made to be a souvenir of the Chicago Worlds Fair of 1892-3. That worlds fair was known as the World\'s Columbian Exposition and commemorated the 400th anniversary ofthe Landing of Columbus in America. The back cover of the watch has an embossed scene depicting this event. The case is made of nickel plated brass. The nickel is worn off in several areas. There is also something that looks like glue that is on the back of the case. I think it will come off with some solvent. The hands and crystal are missing, and the paper dial doesnot look to be original. Also, thesetting nut is missing. The movement looks mostly intact.I am selling this project watch AS-IS.
