(Jules Gabriel Verne) (1828-1905) A French author who helped pioneer the science-fiction genre, Jules Verne is best known for his novels A Journey to the Centre of the Earth, From the Earth to the Moon, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, Around the World in Eighty Day, and The Mysterious Island. Verne is the second most translated author of all time, with 4223 translations, according to Index Translationum. With ink stamp on verso, possibly of previous owner, as shown, with little wear to board and typical aging, as shown. Overall fantastic condition. Needless to say, this is a genuine original, period piece, not a copy or reproduction.
