The magazine includes several photos and features related to the shooting of President William McKinley at the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo just a week earlier. The cover image relates to several features on preparations for the Louisiana Purchase Exposition (aka the 1904 St. Louis World\'s Fair). Also included are pictorial features on the \"Futurity\" horse race at Sheepshead Bay, New York, on August 31, as well as the auto races at Newport, Rhode Island on August 30, including photos of driver William K. Vanderbilt of the fabled millionaire clan.
