A set of four (4) silver salts and four (4) silver salt spoons by William Spratling. They measure a tad over 1 1/2\" across and are 1\" high. The salt spoons are about 2 1/4\" long. These were produced with the square base 1931-1946. The four in this set are hallmarked for 1933-1940. Two of the salt spoons are marked for the early 1940s. This is a great little set that will grace your table....every day! Hard to put these together if you are a collector.
William Spratling was thegenius designer and silversmithingentrepreneur who breathed new life into the silver industry in Taxco, Mexico beginning in the early 1930s. Many maestros began working for him and fine-tuning their design and craft skills before venturing out on their own careers...Antonio Pineda, Antonio Castillo and Hector Aguilar among them.
