Publisher: A. Strahan, 1788. Volume 3 only (of 4). Bound in full leather with elaborate gilt decorations on the spine.

This volume contains two books, Book V concerning ‘Trade of Denmark, Ostend, Sweden, Prussia, Spain, and Russia, to the East Indies. Some important Inquiries concerning the Connections of Europe with India’. This book contains reference to India, the Philippines, Tatary, China. Book VI concerning ‘Discovery of America. Conquest of Mexico; and settlements of the Spaniards in that part of the New World’. Includes a description of California. For greater detail of contents, please see the photos.

The book has a beautiful folding map of Africa, in lovely clean condition, with one tiny closed tear only.

This volume is in very good condition. It has lost its title labels and there is a little bumping to the corners and boards, and the text block is very slightly shaken. The endpapers are slightly browned, and there is also an area of the inside corners of the pages that is a little darkened. This runs through the volume and is most noticeable on the contents pages, fading out to very light elsewhere. Apart from a very occasional isolated light mark, the book is otherwise clean and bright
