This is a very old and very used set. A lot of the names on the spice bottles are hard to read and I don\'t know if that is from wear or if they came that way from production. Production flaws abound on these and are very common on this line of products from Japan. Many of the eyes and bow ties are off center and poorly painted, some spots didn\'t get enough glaze and so on. In my personal opinion this only adds to the charm of these pieces. There is some damage to the wood backing on the rack itself and I wouldn\'t try to hang it as is from the holes for nailing it to a wall because there is significant tear out of the wood on one of the holes. A new back could be easily made or it could be displayed on a shelf. All of the cork stoppers are missing except for the one on the bottle labeled \"Mustard\".
