The Shamrock Hotel, built by Glenn McCarthy, was opened with great fanfare on St. Patrick\'s Day, 1949. It was a landmark for the growing city. It was eventually taken over by the Hilton Corp. When they donated it to the Houston Medical Center, it was torn down in 1987. My parents were original staff and had many happy memories there.
Per my mother, this sticker was created for the last party held in the Emerald Room in 1987. I have other Shamrock items for sale. Follow BAYLORPUMP to find them. I will combine postage!
