This museum quality, highly detailed, America\'s Cup Collection, U.K. Challenger 1930, Shamrock yacht model is Brand New, fully assembled and ready for display (not a kit). You just need to raise the mast and adjust the rigging, a moderate skill level is required (lowered mast saves on shipping).
Please note: The middle jib (sail) has not been adjusted properly in the pictures.
The Shamrock V was launched by Sir Thomas Lipton after his fourth had lost. For his challenger, Lipton turned once more to Charles Nicholson, who produced a beautiful J Boat. When the races started, Shamrock found herself pitted against Enterprise. In the best-of-seven series Enterprise won four, Shamrock failed to score a single victory. The Shamrock V is still sailing and racing today.
The Shamrock V Yacht model is scratched built plank on bulkhead by skillful and creative master craftsmen. It was built according to scale through original plans, pictures and drawings.
What makes this a very unique model sailboat is the exposed ribs, you can see right through this model boat. All of the framing has been sanded smooth and varnished with many coats.
Only high quality wood and metal were used to build the model, absolutely no plastic parts. This beautiful model is resting on a solid wooden stand with a metal plate imprinted with “Shamrock 1930”.
This model measures 38\" long from bow to stern. It\'s a unique and beautiful model yacht that will be a conversation piece for any room or office.
