Offered hereis aSheaffer\"Tuckaway\"fountain pen whichlikely dates from the early1940\'s. The instrument appears dark in color with awide cap ring. The pen is a vacuum filler.

As seen in Scan #1, the pen measures approximately4 1/4\" in length. The surface of the barreldisplays evidence of very light wear. There arenocracks,chips,or scratches noted.The cap band is mildly age-tarnished and does show evidence of brassing.Aspartially visiblein Scan #3, the barrel ofinstrument bearsfour horizontal lines of imprint: the imprint reads,\" W.A. SHEAFFER PEN CO.\";below that, \" FORT MADISON, IOWA, U.S.A.\" ; below that \"PATENTED IN U.S.A.\" ; and, below that \" 1250 \" .

As is the case with all of the vintage writing instrumentsI offer for offerding,thispenwas recently acquired at a localestate sale. I have not tried to fill or use the fountain pen; however, I did manually dip the nib in ink and as seen in Scan #5itproduced afine written specimen.Given this information,the pen isbeing sold \"as-is\".Please review the scans carefully. Thetwo-toned nibis shown in Scan#4.It remains in excellent, undamaged condition, with light, even toning. The nib features a mildly worn iridium.Wording on the nib reads,\" SHEAFFER\'S\";below that a horizontal line; below that, \" LIFETIME \" ; below that, \" REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. \" ; below that, \" MADE IN U.S.A. \" ; and, below that \"14K\".

Within the United States, shippingis set at 3.50 for basic First Class Postageand includesthe USPS Tracking Number. This is the option shown on the initial invoice sent to the high buyer.A secondU.S. shipping option isPriority Mail; Small Flat Rate Box for a fee of 6.50, which includesthe Tracking Number.If desired by the buyer, postal insurancewill be determined by the final sale amount and set according to USPS rate. International shipping and handling fees are available in three options:

1. Standard International Rate is set at 15.00 and is the option shown on the initial invoice sent to the high buyer. (No Tracking Number and No Insurance)

2. Priority Mail Internationalrate is 35.00 to Canada and 43.00 to all other overseas destinations. (No Tracking Number and No Insurance)

3. An international registered postal service such as Global Express Guaranteed or Express Mail International for a fee of approximately 48.00.(Includes a Tracking Number and Variable Insurance). The seller reserves the ability to require Option #3 depending on the final sale amount.
