For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautiful Sheaffer Nostalgia Sterling Silver Overlay Fountain Pen with 14K NIB. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.
I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, and converter. Hand polished the Sterling Silver Cap, Barrel, and 14K Gold NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, and Polished the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen\'s Sterling Silver overlay. This Sheaffer Nostalgia measures 5 5/16\" capped and 6 3/4\" posted.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The Sterling Silver overlay looks absolutely gorgeous with a high shine. The cap is stamped with, \"Sheaffer Sterling 925\". Note: at the very bottom of the barrel there is a minor ding on the edge which, you will see image 7 - possibly it fell and landed on the edge to create a very minor imperfection. I point it out for clarity sake.
I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The converter filler system works great and fills as it was designed to.
This Sheaffer NIB is 14K and writes extremely smooth,I cannot emphasizethis enough. The actual iridium tipping of the 14K Sheaffer NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .77mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a fine. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .49mm when I am measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.
The Sheaffer Nostalgia comes with the original box and original Sheaffer paperwork/instruction.
Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.
This is a wonderful refurbished Sheaffer Nostalgia Fountain Pen with Sterling Silver overlay. It is a magnificent writing instrument with ultra-smooth NIB. I would grade this pen in Very Fine to Excellent Condition. It is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
