Description
- I am pleased to offer from a local private estate a gorgeous SHERMAN brooch
- Extremely rare color combination and design
- TREFOIL PINWHEEL design
- Round and baguette crystal stones in dark royal purple, lighter lilac and a complementary rose pink
- Sherman jewelry was the most expensive costume jewelry ever produced in Canada from 1947-1981
- The quality is amazing - only the best Swarovski crytal stones used and all stones are prong set by hand in a heavy triple plated rhodium setting
- Mint condition with no damaged or dull stones
- Measures 2 1/4" across
- Unsigned but knowledgeable collectors know that many Sherman pieces were sold in sets, or simply with string tags; many pieces are therefore unmarked but inmistakably Sherman
- The identical pinwheel design is shown on page 58 of "All That Glitters" by Valerie Hammond and page 114 of "Sherman - The Masterpiece Collection" by Caldwell and Yallen
- Likely dates from the 1960s
- Please ignore white spots on photo caused by camera flash
