For your consideration hereÂ is the rare picture of Jewish motive from 1931. Long time ago we bought a collection of Jewish pictures from the same Jewish artist. His name is Lazar Weisman. He was living in a Lvov, Poland, later in Ukraine. The pictures in a collection was made from 1927 to 1941. A well known cartoonist Kolomyja from Lvov, who tragically died in Auschwitz in 1942. This picture is from unique collection, interested spreading all images. It was made on different paper including a paper from printed factory (he was working where?) or other side of maps in German language. In 1941 he was took to concentration camp and in 1942 was died

Watercolours are done on paper, measures 6” x 4” - 15 x 10 each. Framed in gilded wood frame and protected with plastic glass. The frame measures 14” x 17” - 35.5 x 43 cm.

Excellent condition with no tears or holes. Light foxing, otherwise just fine.

This is a pair of great vintage to antique Judaica watercolour paintings. Whimsy artworks, one features a Jew man looking for watch, instead see a diamond; another painting depicts a pair resting under the tree. Looking at these artworks come to mind a humorous stories written by Sholem Aleichem

Each painting is signed Kotomyja Z.Q. and dated 1937.
