This is a signedhandwritten letter by William Gore-Langton.
William Gore-Langton (1760-1847) was a Member of Parliament
who served in the House of Commons for more than forty years.
He was also a Colonel of the Oxford Militia.
The letter is written on a folded sheet of paper.
Unfolded, the sheet is about 14\" by 9\".
All of the writing is on one side of the sheet of paper.
The other side of the sheet is blank (see last scan).
The message itself is on the right half of that side,
while the name and address of the person to whom the
letter is addressed is on the left half (see scan 9).
The letter is a message to a fellow member of Parliament.
The handwriting is somewhat difficult to read; the name
of the person to whom the letter is addressed appears to be
something like \"Yarnell J. Jones\".
This letter is signed by Gore-Langton in the third person, at the
very beginning (\"Colonel Gore Langton desires...\"). It is also
signed by him on the part of the letter where the address appears
(see scans 5 & 6).
The signed letter come with a certificateof authenticity
from JG Autographs. The letter and certificate of authenticity
are enclosed in a plastic page, which is open at the top,
allowing easy accessto the letter, while keeping it protected.
