I recently acquired a large set of very rare plates.. currently I am the only seller that has theseavailable on line anywhere from my research. The last couple oftimseone of these\"Scenes of Italy\" plates from this linesold waswhen a plate sold on in the year 2007 & then again in 2013.... according to old records online, they sell for $100\'s of dollars when they do come up very easily and should continued to grow in valuein the future)

This platehas a gorgeous ornate embossed &gold gilt border thatis about2\" wide- the center ishand painted with Landscapecontaining eitherboats, water, floral scenes, city skyline views, etc (there are many scenes this painted by this artist that match, all are titled \"Scenes of Italy\" and display nicely together with matching motifs and warm colors).. The back of these plates have \"Scenes of Italy\" written in the gold paint... These are covered in real gold and they are lush- the entire backs are covered too! These plates are very valuable, very rare, and very desirable among the most serious of porcelain collectors.

Each platewasprofessionally hand painted and signed \"A. Rhodes\" by well-known artist Anton Rhodes. These were done early in his careerand are exquisite representations of his work that later became extremely collectible....

Theseplates werehand painted in the Chicago Studios during the 1920\'s - 1930\'s...Research says he worked for Pickard while making these and they are Pickard style gold embossed plates. They may have been made for sale by The Bailey, Banks & offerdle Co. of Philadelphiabut they are only marked withthe artist signature on frontandthe back where hetitles this \"Scenes of Italy\".. I did find another set as wellthat had the same borders made by this artist but with the floral scenes titled\"Still life\" instead of these Italy scenes.They were obviously made around the same time with the same porcelain and these plates are currently valued at $2,100+

The artistAnton Rhodes, wasan artist for the higher end companies such asPickard, Julius Brauer, Stouffer, Osbourne, and Tolpin before he started his own company. The Pickard biography of Anton Rhodes says he did someamazingfreelance work for Bailey, Banks and offerdle, and I believe this is who he may have made them for. as mentioned above..

This plate measures 10.75\" wide,with a lush raised gold gilt border that is2\" wide

It is inMint condition forit\'s age.This will make great display piece on any cabinet or wallor case.

You will receive the plate that is pictured above so there should be no need for returns or refunds. I will insure this due to value, and should it break I am sure the shipping companywill request tosee the plate due to value for proof of damage. I will wrapit towithstand the harshest of treatment but if they are damaged or lost in shipmentwe will need to file a claim and wait the time it takes to get the refund before you can be refunded for damages- this is normal procedure for online purchases....

*Damaged in shipment*... All of my items are insured against damage in transit. All insurance

claims are filed online now & there may be a delay in how long it takes the insurance company

to process the refund, also USPS claims may require items to be physically taken the post

office for inspection should they ask for them- often photos are not enough for the claim to be

processed.
*Items lost in shipment or not received*... If they are lost in transit, we will be required to

wait the specified time by the shipper to file the insurance claim- there is no other way to do

this as that is their rules and we will have to wait their time limits.
