This Japanese Satsuma bowl is decorated with flowers in the center and butterflies on a busy background on the border. The outer body is decorated with panels of flowers and butterflies on a busy background like the inner body. It is signed on the bottom with the Shimazu family crest and dates from the Meiji period. It measures approximately 2 + 7/8 inches high and 7 + 1/8 inches in overall diameter. Iy is in excellent condition with the exception of crazing, some staining, and some wear on the gold gilt.
