Offered here is a Rare Sterling Silver VINAIGRETTE or Smelling SaltsCase, Once Used On a Chatelaine. The rounded tip is spring loaded in order to release a small amount of scent, snuff or smelling salts, as needed. This ETUI (French for keeper or holder) could have also been used as a needle case or worn as a pendant (see photos). This hand chased beauty is monogrammed, E.A.T. with tiny crosshatching in the center of flowers. It is stamped STERLING, Presso Pat\'d (patented), with PAT NO 824391 (1906?), as well as an etched #3654. For its age, it\'s is in excellent condition & measures approx. 3\" w/jump ring. The workmanship is so very intricate, similar to bright-work, making is very sparkly.I\'m not a professional so please ask questions prior to offerding.
