This is the original small screwdriverthat would have accompanied a Featherweight when it came home from the Singershop (“SIMANCO” stands for SInger MANufacturing COmpany). Its tiny blade isused to turn the bobbin case screws to adjust the bottom thread tension. Thereis no particular magic to this screwdriver and it does not work any better thanone you could get at the hardware store, but it does look good and, well, it’sjust nice to have authentic things when you can get them.

In addition to the SingerFeatherweight 221 and 222, this screwdriver will do the same job of adjustingthe bobbin case tension on almost every vintage Singer sewing machine everbuilt. It will even work on the bullet-shaped bobbin case (shuttle) found in antiqueSinger Model 27, 28, 127 and 128 machines.

Please note that thescrewdriver you receive will not look exactly like the photos. All have scratchesand nicks and signs of age. Some of the shafts are chromed steel and others areblack (see photos), but all are at least 60 years old and are genuine, originalSinger screwdrivers.
