Sir Robert Abbott Hadfield, 1st Baronet [1858 1940] was an English metallurgist, noted for his discovery of manganese steel, one of the first alloys. Hadfield also invented silicon steel in 1886, which is noted for its magnetic behaviour and became very important in the production of electrical applications. Hadfield waas knighted in 1908 and was the recipient of numerous awards from the science community.Listed for sale isthe autograph of Sir Robert Abbott Hadfield. The autograph is signedon a letter sent to him by a collector. The letter is addressed to Hadfield anddated June 5, 1928, and the autograph is signed \'\'R.A. Hadfield\'\' in black fountain pen. The letter measures 7.50 x 9.00 inches, it has expectedmail folds and trivial toningotherwise it is invery good condition.
