…… Measuring only approx 5\" x 5 1/2\" this small early 19th century European Portrait Oil Painting is painted on canvas. Depicting a handsome gentleman, this painting is very well executed, but unsigned. Over the years this painting acquired a few very tiny marks, but overall is is in original condition with no restorations. The 19th century approx 8\" x 9\" gold gilded frame looks to be original with rich lemon gold finish interior. There is some surface wear and gesso chips. There has been no restoration work on the frame. I had a reputable appraiser look at this and he said circa-1820s and even suggested the frame value at $250. This Portrait Oil Painting is listed without reserve.
