This amazing hoof core comes from the three horned dinosaur, Triceratops Horridus. Triceratops Horridus adults grew to an enormous size. Their heads alone were over 6 feetin length, and the whole animal was around 29 feet in length. Triceratops continually shed their teeth while eating. Their teeth would then be replaced by new ones.

This Triceratops ungual was found in one piece. Original matrix has been left in a couple of the cracks to help stabilize the fossil. The hoof corehas great detail and preservation with a dark brown coloration. All around a great exampleof a Triceratops hoof core.

The Triceratops ungual measures: 3 3/8\" inches wide by 3 3/16\" inches in length.

ThisTriceratops ungual was dug out of a microsite in the Hell Creek Formation of CarterCounty, Montana. The hoof core was collected on private ranch land with the owner\'s permission.
