Smoking Set by Cartier in Sterling Silver 2 Dishes /2 Match Box Holders Vintage:

Presentedis a nice smoking or smoker\'s set of sterling silver pieces. They are all made by Cartier. The set comprises 2 round dishes and 2 match box sleeves or holders. The dishes and boxes are well decorated with pleasing borders. There are no monograms and no monogram removals.

Inside each of the match box holders is a vintage match box still with their original matches. The boxes are printed with “La Petite, Safety Matches, Made in Sweden”.

The four pieces are each marked for sterling silver and for “Cartier” the makers. The set is vintage and date to the 1950s.

One of the match box holders has a small split on both sides, but only at one end. The splits are between an outside edge and the aperture through which the strike zone of the match box is reached. They are very minor splits and the box still holds well together as they are in just one little place. The set, otherwise, is in excellent condition. There are no dings, no dents, and no other problems of any kind, and little sign of wear.

If yours is a non-smoking home, these are still beautiful and useful pieces. Match boxes are always handy, and the two dishes would be admirable coasters!
