A rare English solid sterling silver commemorativebowl. It is hallmarked for London 1975 with the makers marks being JB for JocelynBurton. It was made as a commemorative piece to mark the 300thanniversary of the laying of the foundation stone of St Paul’s Cathedral. Theywere made in a limited number of 900 with this one being number 6. It has abeautiful design having a broad bowl and cast gilded handle in the form of the StPaul’s Phoenix and motto RESURGAM meaning \"Ishall rise again\". It is in superb condition being free from dingssplits and repairs, it does not have its box. It measures almost 7 inches (17.5cms) across including thehandle and 4.5 inches (11.5cms) excluding it by almost 1.5 inches (3.6cms) talland weighs an impressive 230 grams. A superbly made very interesting piece.
