For sale a georgeous solid silver tea set made by Walter and John Barnard in 1891.
Fully hallmarked although some marks are worn.
The teapot is very handsome and weighs a lovely 510 grams including light wood handle.. It is in mint condition apart from worn hallmarks although they are still ledgible. This teapot is a fine example of style and class.
The length of tea pot from spout to back of handle is 9.5 inches.
The width to widest point is 6 inches.
The height to tallest part is just under 5 inches.
The matching sugar basin is delightful.
The weight is 249 grams.
The length from handle to handle is 7 inches.
The width to widest point is 4.5 inches.
The height to tallest part is 3 inches.
The condition of sugar bowl is excellent no dents dings or repairs. Hallmarks slightly worn.
The cream jug weighs 188 grams.
The length from spout to back of handle is 5.5 inches.
The width to widest point is 3.75 inches.
The height to tallest part is 3 inches.
The condition is good no repairs but a couple of minor dings near spout.
All in all this is a fantastic clasic silver tea set by great silversmiths. The design is full of elegance and will make a great addition and investment.
Additonal info: The teapot and sugar basin both have the words ERIMUS below a dragon engraved on them. This is faint but beautiful and adds character to set.
