Old Glass Bottle Cap Press / Capper
”Big Ben” is the only name, on the side.This red color, solid steel or cast iron tool was/is for use on capping glass bottles, soda or beer. Itis from the early 1900’s, aprox. It has some surface rust, but in very good condition for its age, well intact.*It has a steel lever/handle, while others were wooden!
Sturdy and solid. Heavy cast iron, some surface rust. Otherwise in nicecondition and works fine.There are many uses for this, to use as a press, or display. Re-paint…although the value is in keeping asis.
Meaures- aprox. 22” high,fully opened. The base is 4” wide x 7”, and stands 17” tall, with three hosefor mounting on table. The opening to place caps is for caps up to a diameter of1 1/8”.Takes a bottle from aprox. 8 ½” to 13 ½”tall, when it is fully opened.
Solid construction, sturdy, heavy weight. Not cheap and flimsy like metal tools oftoday!! Fine usable condition, no apparent breaks.
A great antique for display or craft, adaptable for manyuses!
